Tescan Group has acquired FemtoInnovations, a UConn startup specializing in ultrafast laser systems, and will create a Laser Technology Business Unit (LT BU) headquartered at the University of Connecticut Tech Park. The deal adds laser micromachining and imaging/analysis capabilities to Tescan's correlative and multimodal portfolio to serve semiconductor, biomedical device manufacturing, and advanced research markets.
